Lab Courses at Rice Business

Rice Business offers an array of lab courses that allow you to apply classroom learning to modern problems with real-world clients and projects. Labs range from industry-based courses to new enterprises and entrepreneurship. Students are eligible to take labs in their final semester.

Most lab courses require pre-requisites that must be completed prior to enrolling in the course.

Lab courses are hands-on, experiential opportunities and require time and dedication to meet course goals.

Some lab courses require an application that will be reviewed by course faculty, prior to acceptance.

Consulting-Based Labs

Consulting-based labs involve working with an external client on a real-world project. Students fine tune problem-solving and communication skills, while providing timely service to the business community. These courses require an application and faculty approval to participate.

Entrepreneurship Labs

Offered by the Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (LILIE), these labs focus on new enterprises and entrepreneurship, with guidance from faculty, alumni, and industry leaders. These labs require an application and faculty approval to participate.

Experiential Learning Labs

Experiential learning labs offer an opportunity to take a deep dive into specific industries.  While these labs do not have an external client, they allow student to work closely with peers and faculty on areas of similar interest in an intimate setting.
