The September 24th Lunch Colloquium will be held in the AFC.
Two Things about Breakout Rooms
Please make sure that you are reserving Breakout Rooms through the room reservations system which you can access at rooms.rice.edu. I know that it is really easy to just find an empty Breakout Room and start working, but this can cause frustration for those who have gone into the system and reserved the space. If you have not reserved the Breakout Room space, you could be asked to vacate the room by someone who has actually booked the space.
Please DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS UNATTENDED. Not in the Breakout Rooms, not in the classrooms, not in the common areas. McNair Hall is a public building and even though it feels like it is a space where you would only find MBA students and you all trust each other, the building is open to the public from 6:00am-10:00pm Monday-Friday. We have had a string of thefts and ask for you to all be more vigilant and not leave your belongings unattended.
This is the last week for Class of 2020 exclusive registration for the first-year ILEs. As a reminder, students should have received an email on September 5 with the subject line “Fall elective opportunities in Real Estate and Investment Banking.” This email outlines an opportunity for two Intensive Learning Experience (ILE) electives this fall. Please contact us at jgsbregistrar@rice.edu if you are unable to find this email or have any questions about the opportunity.
2nd Year International Students
Please plan on joining us Thursday, September 20 at 11:30 for a very important session on the OPT & H1B visa process. There have been considerable changes that will likely impact you. OISS will be here to explain the changes, the process and how they may impact you. We will send out more details in a separate email so be on the lookout.
