In Japanese culture, “wa" (和) reflects the idea of harmony, social cohesion, and group consensus, a value that influences relationships, business practices, and daily life throughout the country. Nowhere is this more visible than in Tokyo, a city where tradition and innovation exist side by side and where trust, discipline, and social responsibility guide how organizations operate. In this environment, reputation is central to strategy, especially in times of uncertainty. This course will give students a firsthand look at how companies in Tokyo build, manage, and protect their reputations while offering insights into crisis management and strategic decision-making in one of the world’s most dynamic and distinctive business landscapes
