Subject: Welcome to CampusGroups!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the future of student club administration at the Jones School!  I'm writing to you now using the Group Email tool within our new student experience platform, called CampusGroups, which we have been preparing over the past few months and plan to roll out at the beginning of the 2015-2016 academic year.

As the presidents, vice presidents, officers, liaisons, and friends of our clubs and organizations, you all play an important role in the successful implementation of this exciting new platform! Before we can delve deeply into the features that CampusGroups offers, though, it is critical that we first cover the basics of the system, as well as lay out a general timeline of dates, deadlines, and content requirements that will keep us on track to hit our target implementation date.

So without further ado, please continue reading and, as ever, let me know if you have any questions!

Getting Your Sea Legs: A CampusGroups Primer

As with the adoption of any new technology, users (and administrators, like myself!) will most likely experience some degree of a learning curve - CampusGroups is no exception. While we hope that many of the program's features will become more familiar and easier to use over time, we would prefer to minimize confusion and frustration wherever we can.

I am happy to provide you, then, with an Initial User Guide (attached to this newsletter), which will familiarize you with the general layout of the CampusGroups platform.

Moving forward, I will be releasing a webinar training series that will focus on the club administration-specific functions of CampusGroups, so I will be sure to notify you whenever a new webinar is released.

The Game Plan: Dates, Deadlines & Content

MBA for Professionals and Executive MBA students should already be familiar with CampusGroups; first-year MBAP & EMBA students were added to the system in early June, and second-year MBAP students were added in late June. We will be taking a slightly different tack with our Full-Time MBA students, wherein we will introduce second-years to the system in mid-August, and first-years will be given an in-person orientation to the system during Immersion in late August. With that in mind, I've put together a rough schedule that should hopefully keep us on track for a smooth rollout:

Club Leader To-Dos Due Date
Log in to CampusGroups & familiarize yourself with general layout; revisit club details (membership dues & structure, strategic goals for the year, etc.)  07/17/2015
Add and update website content (photos, newsletters, useful links, etc.) 07/24/2015
Create events through CampusGroups event module** 07/31/2015

**Please feel free to start getting familiar with the event module, but it pains me dearly to ask that you do not begin adding events to the shared calendar before receiving a go-ahead from me. We are currently working out the kinks in the new event approval process, but I will let you know as soon as we are ready to begin receiving your submissions. In the meantime, please use this time to prepare a list of your events, and please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Staying Connected: The SLA CampusGroups Group

You have all been added as members of a CampusGroups Group, called the Student Leadership & Activities group - or SLA, for short.  This Group will serve as a sort of intranet system for club leaders, giving you access to event planning guides, training documents, and a wide variety of other helpful resources (many of these resources will look familiar, as they were once hosted on our JGSB Club Leadership OWL-Space site). While the site is currently pretty bare-bones, I hope to have an infinitely more exciting site up and running soon - so if you have an idea for a cool feature, or would like to see something specific added to the site, please just let me know!

After following the Initial User Guide attached here, please feel free to head to the SLA Group Feed. As is common with new technology, I am sure that you will run into a roadblock or two - including a few glitches - but with your help, we can address these issues in a timely and effective manner.  To that end, please don't hesitate to use the SLA Group Feed to ask questions, report issues, or exchange tips and best practices with other club leaders.
