Dear Class of 2023,
I am honored to congratulate you on your acceptance, and formally welcome you to our Rice Business Family! Amid such a challenging year, you made time to network, join virtual information sessions, prepare for your GMAT, and spend countless hours on your application and interview preparation. I am here to tell you that all of your time and sacrifice has paid off. Joining the Jones Graduate School for Business (JGSB) will undoubtedly be one of the most transformative experiences of your lifetime.
I am certain that like I, most of you are feeling emotions spanning from excitement and achievement to nervousness and uncertainty. I can assure you that you are here because you deserve to be, and because you will certainly bring something new and exciting to our diverse community. Over the next two years, you will have the distinct honor of learning from our esteemed professors while working alongside the best and brightest of professionals from various industries. Your experience here at Rice Business will prepare you with the skills and confidence you will need to be future leaders in business and in your community.
As President of the Jones Student Association for Professionals and on behalf of our JSAP Officers, I am honored to welcome the Rice Business Class of 2023. I would like to conclude by offering you some words of advice for how to make the best of your experience here at JGSB.
Be yourself and have the confidence to share your knowledge and experiences with your peers. Have patience with yourself and your classmates, as you will most certainly rely on one another for success. Challenge yourself to span outside of your comfort zone and never be afraid to ask questions. Most importantly, have a great time! They people you meet in this program will undoubtedly become lifelong friends.
