Executive MBA Program

June 8, 2020

Welcome from the Career Development Office!

Dear Executive MBA Students,

On behalf of the Career Development Office (CDO), welcome to Rice Business! We are excited to welcome you to the Rice family and look forward to meeting each of you. We recognize the uncertainty of what the fall might bring, but the CDO team is committed to delivering a stellar experience for you. Many of you are pursuing the MBA to advance your career, facilitate a post-MBA career transition or pursue entrepreneurial ventures. The CDO is here to serve as a resource and active partner to ensure you achieve your career goals.

As a Rice Business EMBA student, you have access to exclusive resources, including:

Career Coaching & Advising. Marie Bergeron will be your career advisor and coach here in the CDO. Marie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience coaching executives across many industries and functional roles. Other members of the CDO advising team may also provide coaching.

Career Management Workshops. As part of the Executive MBA program, a select number of career management workshops are scheduled throughout the academic year, including professional development sessions over the Friday lunch hour. Alumni and friends visit to speak to EMBA students about starting businesses, transitioning into leadership roles, managing global teams, executive compensation, working with recruiters, and much more.

Self-Assessment Tools. CareerLeader is offered at no cost to all Executive MBA students. Marie, I and the coaching team are available to discuss and interpret the results with you.

Job Postings: Rice Business maintains an active network of employers who routinely post jobs to our internal recruiting platform. Executive MBA students have free access to these postings. EMBA students are also encouraged to post their company’s job opportunities on the site for the benefit of other student colleagues.

There are many additional services and benefits provided to our Executive MBA students. Marie and I look forward to meeting you all during the Executive MBA Forum to take a deeper dive. In the meantime, feel free to connect with me via LinkedIn. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Go Owls!
