On behalf of the Rice Business Student Association for Executives (RBSAE), we wholeheartedly welcome you and encourage you to take full advantage of all the resources available to you. As you begin your journey, you may feel overwhelmed by the influx of information. Remember that this process is not a sprint, and these resources will be at your disposal when appropriate.
One of the outstanding resources is the Career Development Office (CDO). Whether you are pivoting careers or enhancing your current one, we invite you to tap into the support and guidance offered by the CDO. From resume building to interview preparation, they are dedicated to helping you succeed in your professional endeavors. The CDO will hold ongoing panels and workshops to further support your career development. Marie Bergeron is your point of contact for the CDO, and rest assured, you will see her frequently! Another valuable resource is the renowned Doerr Institute for New Leaders, which is committed to helping you navigate your leadership development journey through evidence-based techniques and aligning your passion with leadership goals. Whether you want to become a more effective leader, focus on specific leadership skills, or stay up to date in this ever-changing environment, the Doerr Institute offers a myriad of tailored development approaches.
The Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (LILIE) exemplifies our commitment to fostering innovation and creativity through the Rice Business Entrepreneurship Labs (e-Labs). Whether your goal is mergers and acquisitions, launching your own venture, or starting a search fund, LILIE will provide a supportive environment to explore, learn, and guide you. Additionally, the Valhalla Investment Group (VIG), founded by an EMBA alumnus in 2012, embodies our program's collaboration, growth, and community enrichment ethos within the investment realm. Through VIG, you will engage with like-minded EMBA peers, leveraging our collective expertise and networks to explore investment opportunities and foster professional development. This platform is a gateway to learning and a conduit for building lasting relationships that will shape your journey and contribute to your success.
