Let's Talk About Canvas

Canvas is a course management system designed to promote teaching and learning, as well as collaboration between members of the Rice University Community. As a student within the Jones Graduate School of Business, Canvas will be used to access all course information ranging from course syllabi to course readings.

Over the summer, you will use Canvas to complete your onboarding checklist. You must be careful when properly completing items. For instance, the onboarding survey is embedded in the Canvas page and must be FULLY completed within the system.

Attached to this Scoop is a PDF with instructions that will help you navigate on Canvas and complete your onboarding checklist. If you ever have any questions, contact SPO@rice.edu.

  • Look over the onboarding checklist (there are 3 things for you to do this week). You will need to complete each item through your Canvas page.
    • Tip: Do not check off an item on your checklist before completion. If it is not finished, a Canvas administrator will mark it incomplete, and can result in a hold on your account.
  • Complete your health data form by June 15.

RBGB organizes a variety of volunteer opportunites: from large service days, hosting high school entrepreneurship competitions, and fundraising that support local communities.
