Rice Fall Career and Internship Expo

10 AM – 3 PM
Tudor Fieldhouse
Every year, Rice holds an all-campus career and internship expo. Visit with over 100 companies registered to attend! View the list of employers here: https://rice.joinhandshake.com/career_fairs/4995/employers_list?logged_out_view=student_preview
- Be sure to do your homework prior to the expo- review the company list to see who will be in attendance and what functions they are hiring for. Also utilize resources such as Vault to do basic research on the company, it's products, clients, etc.
- Bring your padfolio with extra copies of your resume, a pen, and paper.
- Arrive early. Many employers will pack up and leave prior to the 3pm closing.
- Consider visiting company booths that are less crowded, even if they are not on your original target list.
- If you have a meaningful exchange with one of the employers, collect their contact information and send a thank-you note within 24 hours.
Trek Prep Workshop – Save the Date

Making the Best of Our Services
Fall semester is a busy time – for both you and us! We’ve seen an influx in demand for our services, which we love because we want you to utilize us to ensure you feel supported and ready for your job and internship search. Due to this increase in demand, we wanted to provide a few guidelines on how to best utilize our services effectively:
- Making appointments ahead of time. This continues to be a best practice to better ensure that you have a solidified, dedicated time with us to discuss your resume, search approach, networking strategy, and any other topic which we know is important during this critical time. To best serve you and give you the time you need, we encourage you to make an appointment ahead of time on OWL-Careers, as we have continuously been booked back to back in the last few weeks. We understand that important topics come up suddenly (negotiating offers, and other time-sensitive topics), please let us know if it’s an urgent matter and we’ll do our best to see you/respond!
- Observing the 45-minute appointment time. We want to best serve you, and we want to best serve all of our students. This is why it’s imperative that we continue to observe the 45-minute cap time on appointments.
- Bring a printed, hard copy resume, especially to a resume appointment. In order to save time and receive the most effective feedback, we require that you bring along a printed, hard copy resume to any resume appointment. This helps us better utilize that time to speak with you about your skills and accomplishments.
- Documents emailed to us may need additional turnaround time. Because our appointments are popular, we might not have the quickest turnaround time on emailed documents. If you would like speedy feedback, we suggest bringing your resume or cover letter to walk-in hours, which occur Tues-Fri from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, for a 10-15 minute check in, or alternatively, make an appointment on OWL-Careers to ensure you have a dedicated time saved to review your document with us.
Thank you for working with us to ensure a smooth and positive working environment that allows us to best serve you in helping you with your career goals!
