Health Care Lunch & Learn

Carla Braxton MD, MBA - Chief Quality Officer, Houston Methodist West HospitalCarla Braxton MD, MBA

Chief Quality Officer, Houston Methodist West Hospital

I am board certified in general surgery and in surgical critical care medicine. I completed my MBA degree at Columbia University in New York and I am a Lean Sensei in Six Sigma. I want to leverage my business and quality/performance improvement training as a Chief Medical Officer or as a Vice President for Quality/Performance Improvement. I want to continue to practice surgery, which has always been my passion. I also know that remaining a practicing clinician will keep me current with what the concerns are of the physicians and nurses who care for patients day to day.

Specialties: trauma surgery, surgical critical care medicine, surgical quality and performance improvement, quality/patient safety, medical media
